Hi Andrew,

I think most of the contacts come thru on the 30m Band 10.13870 USB .Pico transmits on the hour 20 mins and 40 mins UTC for that band
Same freq for WSPR and JT9 as U say, 1802Hz here.

I have included screenshot of what U will see on JT9 and my setup on WSJT-X.

Congrats Andy on 2nd trip around maybe we can get 3....Well done.

Marvelous effort Andy, well done

PS-46 has been very interesting to track. The wind currents this time have been different.

Fantastic, great effort :D

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the feedback. I seem to be getting de-codes that do not always end up on the map?
I suspect that my firewall is being a problem.

Pico 46 is heading toward Africa over the South Atlantic then on to Australia at 170Kph at 9000 meters altitude and will hopefully complete Circumnavigation for the 3rd time.

Best freq to try and catch Data is 10.1387Mhz usb using WSPR and JT9 software by K1JT

Have included screenshot of latest details

It appears PS-46 may be in a storm system  It's lost half its altitude in a short time, and there're indications of significant precipitation on some of the satellite data available for the region. Fingers crossed she'll make it through the coming night.

Unfortunately, it appears we lost PS-46 overnight. BUT, you never know. It appeared to encounter icing and descended into a storm front that was visible from satellite imagery around midnight EST. There were a couple of times where the balloon seemed to start rising again when it descended into >0deg air, but going into an event such as that at the beginning of the night as it did, I think the ice probably beat it.

I'll keep watching anyway, just in case...

Hi all,

As suspected PS-46 hit a weather front last night around 10pm AEST, two hours before local sunset.
The temperature dropped 15 degrees in a short period while the sun was still out in full, and the balloon started its final 6H descend into the Indian Ocean.

It was 3H short of 8 weeks and over 110,800km in the air. The little battler never stopped to surprise us, from the little loops, to the drawing of the heart-shape over Cocos Island, and the extra day for another loop before crossing the line the second time.

The trip was supported by many trackers in VK, ZL and around the world, both new trackers, and the veterans, and many who tried but did not appear on the maps.

Thanks for assistance with tracking, especially the hard core trackers that were manning the post almost around-the-clock, you know who you are!

This is the JT9 stats of the trip, in ascending order:
