Post by VK3YT » Sat May 16, 2015 8:30 am

Hi all,

FYI, PS-45 is in the air.

Solar powered party balloon, 10mW TX
APRS on 145.175Mhz
Olivia 8/250 with RSID on 434.649Mhz USB (Dial frequency)

Tracking as PS-45 on SNUS http://spacenear.us
and VK3YT-11 on APRS.FI http://aprs.fi/#!mt=roadmap&z=11&call=a ... &tail=3600

Assistance with tracking is appreciated.
Instructions for tracking is herehttp://picospace.net/?p=736
Ignore the payload list in df-fldigi as they don't support autoconfig for Olivia yet.

Hi Brian,
PS-44 on habhub was just a quick test. It might be in the air in the next few days!

More listeners needed, I'm just about out of signal here @ 124km... I probably should get a proper antenna for 70cm.

I Just turned on the rig and set up the computer. I don't hold out much hope but if its on frequency and it gets over this was a bit more then we might be in luck!

Hi Daniel, The frequency is very stable, I have it at 434.649 USB and 1350hz on the waterfall, it is moving fairly slowly so it could be a long wait, it may even shut down for the night soon as the battery voltage is falling.

Hi Daniel,

Did you try to set the Olivia Tune Margin to 100, and integration period to 8?
Does RSID detect the ID?

While RSID is the most convenient way to auto tune the signal, I found the most solid setup is to manually set Olivia 250/8, Tune Margin=100, Integration period = 8, and turn off RSID (RxID).

Hmm... Not sure where to find that. Still learning!

Just got this:
YkT$$PS-45,809,05:41:03,-35.9786,139.0432,9149,19.47,17,3,-2,4211,0974 1101

Did some reading...
Ok decoding it now. It auto jumps to the frequency so its tracking i guess.
