IC-9100 fault

Postby VK4UH » Sat Oct 27, 2018 9:42 am

Hello

I have discovered to day that my IC9100 has lost about 20-30dB of Rx sensitivity on the 2m section.

The Rx is still working but has gone deaf - but not completely deaf - in essence.

All other bands appear unchanged.

We have been plagued by repeated thunderstorms here in SE Queensland over the last few weeks.

Has anyone else suffered a similar problem I wonder?

Yes Kevin I did, was doing construction work at the QTH in 2016, as I was not using it I gave it to AMG as a test rig. Turns out it was also hit by bad weather/maybe op/error prior to me boxing it up, either way he fixed it (being part Q1251 on the VRX board) and we moved on has never reoccurred.
