Re: Remote PTT for SGLabs Transverter

Keep the Forums going... My FT817 does not have an accessory socket like my FT100D, where I can get a hard wired PTT from the rig while utlizing the Data & ACC Mini Din sockets for something else. On the FT817 You can pick up (tx gnd) & (gnd) pins from the ACC Mini Din to use for external PTT, which...

Re: Remote PTT for SGLabs Transverter

Hi Hayden, The grey junction box previously housed my 13CM SGLabs Tvrtr. I use a custom built length of LMR400 + N connectors ordered from 'Times Microwave', (excellent quality). The short length of LMR400 connects via N:SMA patch leads in the weatherproof JBox, then the SMA's fit through a 'smallis...

Remote PTT for SGLabs Transverter

Hi, in an effort to maintain the ongoing life of Logger Forums, here is a small 'Show & Tell' contribution. I recently completed my 13CM Spectrian amp upgrade based around an SGLabs transverter/FT817 and the 'PyroJoe' 30W amp board (eBay). Big thanks to info from VK2.. VK3.. VK4.. VK5.. VK7.. etc wh...

Re: VK1RGI seen in QF56if

VK1RGI was in this morning for over an hour. Just above the noise, but 'car alarm' siren clear. Able to read CW ident a couple of times. Approx 215K from QF55kk
Faded out about 10.00(ish). Now I know where to point beam (24 el loop).

Nice work Hayden,

Very helpful, video details crisp and clear on U-tube full screen.

It's good when you can read part numbers

Re: Wanted: VK3ATL Geelong 3.4 GHz Panels

Wanted: VK3ATL Geelong 3.4 GHz Panels Did you pickup one of these but never converted it? I'm after some spare panels to do some conversions, or better still, get the local club members to convert to get them to get a taste of microwaves relatively easily, cheaply and establish a microwave communit...

Re: The Spectrian Amp for 2.4 GHz

I have just completed my Spectrian 30W PA unit with SGLabs 13CM transverter. (not the 75W unit)
Big thanks to Rob VK1KW for info on where to source PA and bits and pieces needed to configure.

Re: What's on your Workbench?

Hi all,
Looking at a possible 13cm PA project and need a suitable enclosure to fit all the gear in.
At the moment looking at a Jaycar 2 Unit 19 inch Rack style, but prefer the looks of the alum enclosure in pic.
Any ideas where to source this enclosure or similar ?

Re: SG Lab 23cm Transverter - Anyone heard of them?

Hi Jason, That is good news and handy info or future mishaps. I will let the local guys know. I use 13cm tvrtr on my FT817 and little chance of drive probs. However, I run my 23cm from FT847 and have to remember to reduce drive pot to min. every time. I have fitted a 3db SMA pad to tvrtr input to ke...

Re: SG Lab 23cm Transverter - Anyone heard of them?

Hi Jason, Last year I had a switch mode power supply blow up and it took out my SGLabs 13cm transverter. I ordered a replacement transverter and also asked Hristiyan at SGLabs if he was ok with me sending the faulty one in to assess if it was repairable. I posted it back and he advised quite quickly...

Re: Lurking 101

A bit of History? - Early days logger showed 'watchers' who could see all the 'goodies' on VKLOGGER without signing in, as opposed to the signed in 'Users'. At one stage Adam rebadged Watchers to 'Lurkers' for a while, for a nudge. Quite often the number of Watchers (Lurkers) out numbered the Users....

Re: FreeDV on Thursday!!

John,
Also using a signalink. Win7 to FT847. Rx from Peter vk3rv/5 was mostly solid, best I've heard on this mode so far.
I think conditions not so good last night to the other stations. Will keep tinkering with settings, now that there is some activity around.

Cheers,

Re: FreeDV on Thursday!!

Hi John, Peter vk3rv/5 port @ Murray Bridge was very clear tonight -(rx only). Still playing with tx levels and could not get back to him. No luck with other vk2 stations on rx either. Tinkered with FreeDV a bit before, but lack of stations to test & interest faded. Have reinstalled s/w and looking ...

2.4Ghz Grid Antennas

Recently ordered a 2.4Ghz SG-Labs Transverter and was looking for a suitable antenna to start off with, to get my feet wet on 13Cm. Found these Grid antennas on clearance sale. Specs looked ok, antenna arrived today and looks quite good for the low price. Has anyone used these before or feedback to ...
