How would that actually 'lock' the txco if the coupler isn't electrically connected? Passively?
Yes injection locking. Similar method to the way 3HZ did it with the 706.

The "Sync to REF IN" function is added for the reference frequency adjustment' sounds very promising!!!
Has anyone tested this on their 9700 yet?

I also have reliable information that a "local" kit provider may be coming out with a solution shortly. In prototype I'm led to believe.

Very good video Adam. The power supply sounds like it's about to take off down a runway when it's powered up with that fan though

Yes the Icom IC-9700 has been GPS locked! How? Well Rex VK7MO brings us up to speed on developments, explains the features he enjoys most out of this new radio and the benefits for those wanting to use this rig on Earth-Moon-Earth (EME) moonbounce or other weaker signal digital modes.

Measuring Return Loss (VSWR) of Antennas using a Spectrum Analyzer

In this video I describe using a directional coupler to do a return loss measurement of my LFA 6 meter yagi. I also perform the same test using a common MFJ analyzer.

Re: 13 cm calling frequency.

I have also had success with a bandpass filter kindly provided by VK3PP. On 2403.150 I can hear noise and hash from local WiFi crud, but with the BPF inline (20dB down at 2420 I think) the noise is considerably less. Mainly due to the fact that every above Channel 2 is knocked down below 50dB. The u...

Re: 13 cm calling frequency.

One of my goals is to try to work ZL on 2.4 GHz one season. Now I'm setup for it, hopefully it will become a reality. Just need the right conditions, and oh, some ZL's at the other end.... too bad we don't have an alternative logger function yet, but hopefully there will be one come summer  :lo...

Re: 13 cm calling frequency.

Is there a reason why the 2300-2302 range is not used instead of 2403? Especially for SSB calling. From the bandplan The segment 2300 – 2302 MHz is recommended for use in areas where the weak signal segment on 2403 MHz suffers unacceptable interference from digital links and other devices, and also ...

Hi Andrew,
What specific errors were you getting? All of the setup procedure is as per the manual so you shouldn’t have too many issues there.

Give your node another go and maybe post your issues on the forum and a few of us can help out.
