Amateur Radio Repeater Repair & Site Visit

Today I traveled to the site of an amateur radio repeater on UHF (70cm) that I maintain after a fault on the transmitter appeared and gradually got worse over the past few months. Lesson learnt - always bring EVERYTHING you may ever need! On my next visit I will bring back a replacement GPS antenna ...

Using WSPR for weak signal propagation

How do you know if the band is open? Lots of CQ calls but no response? This video shows the benefits of using WSPR as a beacon mode to try to predict when propagation will be strong enough to support voice or CW communication and how to view propagation paths on any particular band on a WSPR map. In...

Re: WSJT USB Audio Sources???

Just seen this post. That's an interesting one Adam, and again one I haven't seen before.

Can you try another PC to see if it's able to be seen in there? Tried running WSJT-X as admin? Just trying to think what else to try....

Interview with Jet Jurgensmeyer KE0UWZ about Last Man Standing & Ham Radio

Jet Jurgensmeyer is perhaps best known for his role on the TV show Last Man Standing and has recently passed his license for his ham radio ticket. Jet's callsign is KE0UWZ and he was kind enough to sit down with me for an interview about the show, his music and amateur radio.

Leo's idea is a good one. I've seen a few GPS lock their rigs with his GPSDO's.

How would that actually 'lock' the txco if the coupler isn't electrically connected? Passively?
Yes injection locking. Similar method to the way 3HZ did it with the 706.

The "Sync to REF IN" function is added for the reference frequency adjustment' sounds very promising!!!
Has anyone tested this on their 9700 yet?

I also have reliable information that a "local" kit provider may be coming out with a solution shortly. In prototype I'm led to believe.

Very good video Adam. The power supply sounds like it's about to take off down a runway when it's powered up with that fan though

Re: 13 cm calling frequency.

I have also had success with a bandpass filter kindly provided by VK3PP. On 2403.150 I can hear noise and hash from local WiFi crud, but with the BPF inline (20dB down at 2420 I think) the noise is considerably less. Mainly due to the fact that every above Channel 2 is knocked down below 50dB. The u...

Re: 13 cm calling frequency.

One of my goals is to try to work ZL on 2.4 GHz one season. Now I'm setup for it, hopefully it will become a reality. Just need the right conditions, and oh, some ZL's at the other end.... too bad we don't have an alternative logger function yet, but hopefully there will be one come summer  :lo...
